With the possibility of significant snowfall over the weekend, ACPS is preparing for the possibility of remote instruction next week. We will provide meals for students in need during the anticipated closure. If you would like to request meals to be sent home with your student, please see below for instructions.
Amherst County High School, Amherst Education Center, Amherst Middle School, and Monelison Middle School will collect information from students tomorrow if they request food to be sent home with them on Friday.
Madison Heights Elementary and Temperance Elementary are asking you to call the school by 3 PM tomorrow (Jan 22) to request food for students.
Amelon, Amherst, Central, and Elon Elementary Schools will be contacting parents via DOJO or other preferred communication apps to compile their list of students requesting food.

During his visit to Temperance Elementary, Superintendent Dr. Wells shared real antlers for a hands-on show-and-tell before joining students in a festive reindeer ornament craft after reading Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
ACHS Culinary Arts students prepared a delicious, professionally plated lunch for the recent Legislators Visit.
Our ACPS first graders celebrated Make a Difference Day at the Amherst County Public Library with a new book, a storytime, and a special tour!
Amherst County Public Schools has been named the Best of Region 5 for our outstanding autism supports—an honor made possible by the dedication of our incredible staff and inspired by our amazing students.
The staff at Monelison Middle School had some fun celebrating the 6-7 Day of school!
ACHS students participated in the new CTE Lunch & Learn series hosted by the ACPS Education Foundation. The first event was held at Hickey Plumbing, Air, & Electric, giving students a hands-on look at career pathways.
Our ACPS 8th graders from both Amherst Middle and Monelison Middle explored hands-on career pathways at CVCC’s Worlds of Opportunity Expo, connecting with local industries and discovering exciting possibilities for their future.
