Dear ACPS Families,

The Amherst County School Board will convene a Special School Board Meeting on Thursday, January 27, 2022  at 6:00pm to make a decision as to whether we will continue with our current health and safety mitigation plan, including mandating wearing of face coverings in accordance with CDC recommendations, or to implement the tenants of Executive Order Two (2022) making face coverings optional for students per parental choice. This executive order does not apply to students when using school transportation. Per Executive Order, school staff and visitors are still required to wear masks.

In consideration of Governor Youngkin’s recent executive order and in advance of our January 27th  Board meeting, ACPS would like to gather information from families regarding your opinion about the pending Board decision. Please take a moment to provide a response to this brief survey. Individual responses are confidential, and are only differentiated by the demographic information provided.  Please respond to the survey by Tuesday, January 25th at 5:00 pm as the survey will close at that time. Thank you for your time and input as we gather information to share with the Board about how to best support the health and safety of all ACPS stakeholders.

It is important to note that current mitigation measures, including required mask wearing, remain in effect pending a decision by the School Board on January 27th.
