World Languages

Once students reach the 8th grade in ACPS, they are allowed to take either French or Spanish. Students taking a foreign language at either middle school will receive high school credit upon successful completion of the course.

The Virginia Board of Education  adopted the revised World Language Standards of Learning in 2020. These new standards replaced the current "Foreign Language Standards" and began with a phased implementation in the fall of 2021.

Information about these new standards can be found using the Quick Links below or by accessing the VDOE State Superintendent's Memo #070-21
