How do you live  “Every Child, Every Day”?

In our classroom, our two most important rules are to “Respect everyone and everything” and to “Do your personal best.”  My goal is for every child to feel safe, loved and important while being encouraged and challenged to do his/her very best every single day.  From the first day of school, we talk about respecting the differences within our classroom and working together to achieve more.  I feel that providing an education for children means more than just instructing them academically, and should also include lessons focused on respect, responsibility and perseverance.  I want our children to succeed in all aspects of life and to understand that working hard and treating others with respect will take them far in life.

I feel very privileged to teach at the same elementary school I attended as a child and I love that my own daughters have attended the same school as well!  I grew up in the Temperance community and still live here, which allows me to make connections with our families and community members.  I can only hope that I am making a difference in the lives of our children and their families, one day at a time.
