“How Do I Live Every Child, Every Day”:

“Every Child, Every Day” means that I embrace all of my of students everyday with empathy, kindness and a genuine concern for their physical and emotional well- being.  Being in the hallways in the mornings to share a joke, fist bump, smile, or even a hug, being in the stands in the afternoons to cheer students at sporting events, providing opportunities to give back to the community through my RUBIES or simply making home visits to “check in” are just a few examples of small gestures  with huge implications.   The most endearing aspect of how I strive to live by our motto is the attempt to create a feeling of connectedness, a sense of relationship and a feeling of belonging.  I see myself as a small part of the huge collaborative effort to build an inclusive student body that appreciates and respects the diversity and creativity that our students and their families bring to the culture of our building.  When students experience this type of encouragement, it can only serve them well in all aspects of their personal lives.

“We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color”----Maya Angelou
