The Amherst County Public Schools Maintenance Department
Mission:
To operate and maintain 15 buildings consisting of over 787,000 square feet, their equipment and other assets in a comfortable safe environment conducive to student learning. Monitor gas, water and electricity usage by implementing cost saving measures as appropriate. To care for and maintain over 260 acres of lawns, trees and shrubs to enhance the exterior landscapes.
History:
The Maintenance Department is made up of various craftsmen who use their combined talents to tackle any job that is asked of them in a team spirit with pride and dedication to get the job done in a timely manner with quality and professionalism.
Our team consists of the following crafts/trades:
1 Electrician, 1 HVAC/Plumber, 1 Boiler man, 1 Painter,
1 Carpenter/Locksmith, 2 General Maintenance Mechanics,
4 Groundskeepers, 1 Custodial Driver/Mail Driver
True emergency situations such as the following should be called in immediately to the Maintenance Department at one of the numbers shown below.
