Dear School Community Members:
Welcome to the Amherst County Public Schools website. We are proud of the significant accomplishments of our students in the many academic, civic, artistic, service and athletic endeavors. As a parent, guardian, family member, or community member, you serve as an important influence on a child’s education.
High expectations, strong relationships and appropriate academic rigor are critical elements to be considered as we move forward in delivering the promise of our mission and vision: Every Child, Every Day. The Amherst County School Board and the ACPS staff are dedicated to providing a quality education for every child by focusing on five priority goals: student academic achievement; school safety; communication; leadership; and responsibility.
It is my firm belief and expectation that we will not only continue the outstanding work that has been put into action, but also we will reach even higher levels of achievement. The ACPS team strives to create a school system in which all students will not only become proficient learners, but also will embrace learning as a meaningful, lifelong process. By working together, everyone in Amherst has a role in making a positive difference in the lives of students and families.
