It has come to our attention that false information has been passed throughout the community regarding several policies that our School Board is currently reviewing. The policies in question are about non-discrimination and harassment. Nowhere in these policies does it address anything about the use of restrooms, locker rooms, etc. If you have not done so already, please read the referenced policies linked below. SUBJECT: Science Textbook Public Comment
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is currently in the review process for science textbooks according to the Board of Education approved Timeline for State Approval Process for Science. Committees of Virginia educators used the Textbook Criteria for Science to conduct the textbook review and determine the alignment of the submitted textbooks to the expectations in the 2018 Science Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework.

On Thursday, July 30th, the Amherst County School Board approved two changes to the ACPS Roadmap to Return Plan.

ACPS is still accepting applications for its 2020-2021 Smart Start Preschool program. This program is held at CES, MHES, and Amelon. New student registration forms for the 2020-2021 school year can be filled out online at https://ecollect.accelaschool.com/Amherst.
If you do not have internet access, please visit one of our WiFi access locations at any of our schools, Amherst Town Hall, and Amherst/MH Libraries. If you are unable to access these locations or do not have a device, please schedule a time to meet with your building administrator.
