AMHERST COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD PUBLIC NOTICE
 

Due to a resignation of District 2 School Board member, there is one opening on the Board. The members of the Amherst County School Board will consider applications to fill this seat from County citizens residing in District 2 until the General Election in November 2019.

The Amherst County School Board is comprised of seven members and has certain statutory duties, including but not limited to: adopting policy to provide for the day-to-day supervision of schools; ensuring the public schools' compliance with State law; overseeing the operation of public schools, including the length of the school term, the studies to be pursued, and the methods of teaching to be employed in the schools; managing school property and ensuring capital needs are met; providing for the consolidation of schools, redistricting, or adopting pupil assignment plans; and such other duties as the State Board of Education may prescribe.
