Free WIFI at Elon

Amherst County Public Schools (ACPS) has implemented free drive-in WIFI service at Elon Elementary. This service is free and provided to facilitate better education, which provides students with the ability to work and connect with teachers. It is our hope this service helps our population who do not have access to fast and reliable Internet access at home. Free WIFI is available seven days a week between the hours of 5 PM and 9 PM. Simply drive onto school property and park close to the sign that says “Free WiFi” near the main entrance of the school.

Free WIFI is the latest step ACPS has taken to incorporate technology to create a more convenient experience for our students and staff. In January of 2017, ACPS started to bring online our new, fast networks that allow strides like free WIFI.

“We know learning does not stop at the end of the school day” said Dr. Steven Nichols, “So this service will expand our technology offering to our students.”

To use this service, connect to the WIFI network “ACPS-PM” and there is no username or password to remember. This service is monitored and filtered to prevent inappropriate usage. Should this pilot service go well, it is to be expanded to other schools in the following months.

Please share this information with your fellow Elon students and parents. To share feedback, please call Joe Goldman, Supervisor of Technology for ACPS, at 847-4210. Thank you.
