How I Live Every Child, Every Day

  • Build rapport and routines to ensure a safe, comfortable learning environment
  • Create an environment whereby students are confident in their responses or feel safe in making mistakes or admitting they are not confident in order to explore why and progress in knowledge
  • Meet students where they are and scaffold instruction to enable access to grade level curriculum
  • Utilize differentiated lesson sequences based on student need
  • Employ a variety of learning strategies and modalities
  • Ensure that everyone has a voice and everyone participates
  • Continual data monitoring, leading to flexible grouping
  • One-on-one error analysis with students as often as time affords
  • Get to know students as individuals (characteristics, personalities) in order to incorporate their interests into everyday lessons and to build rapport
  • Work closely with teammates (academic resource teacher, paraprofessional, and grade level team members) in order to meet individual needs of students

One of the best things to ever experience is the moment a child’s eyes light up and sparkle with understanding!
